FAQ

Cardboard collection, answered.

Bins, pickups, what goes in, and how quickly we can start. Can’t find your answer? Call us — we’re happy to help.

Getting started

How do I get a cardboard collection quote?

Fill in the two-step quote form or call 1300 410 095. Tell us your suburb and roughly how much cardboard you produce, and we’ll reply within 4 business hours.

How quickly can collections start?

Most businesses are set up within a week: we confirm your bin and schedule, deliver the bins, and your first pickup happens on your nominated day.

What types of businesses do you work with?

Warehouses and 3PLs, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and supermarkets, cafés and restaurants, offices, food producers, growers and nurseries — any business that produces regular cardboard or paper waste.

Can I keep my general waste provider?

Yes. Recyco only collects cardboard and paper, so you keep your existing general waste service. Moving cardboard out usually means your general waste bin fills more slowly.

Bins

What bin sizes do you offer?

Four sizes: 240L and 660L wheelie bins (small offices, clinics, cafés and shops), an 1100L wheelie bin (busy retail, venues and light commercial sites) and a 3m³ high-capacity bin (warehouses, manufacturers and distributors).

How big is an 1100L bin?

A standard 1100L commercial wheelie bin is roughly 1.4m wide, 1.1m deep and 1.3m high, and can be wheeled out by staff.

How much more does a 3m³ bin hold?

About 2.7 times as much as an 1100L bin (3,000 litres vs 1,100 litres). It needs clear access for our truck to lift it.

Do you supply the bins?

Yes. Bins are supplied and serviced by Recyco, and we’ll swap the size if your volumes change.

Pickups

How often can you collect?

Weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on-demand. High-volume sites can have several pickups a week.

Can I book an extra pickup?

Yes — call 1300 410 095 and we’ll add a collection on our next run through your area.

What happens if a pickup is missed?

Call us directly. Because we’re a small local team, we can usually sort it the same day.

What can be recycled

What cardboard can go in the bin?

Clean corrugated boxes and cartons, shipping boxes, product packaging, cardboard sheets, slip sheets, dividers, display stands and tubes. Please flatten boxes first.

What can’t go in?

Wax-coated produce boxes, cardboard soaked in food, oil or grease, polystyrene, plastic film, strapping and general waste.

Do you take office paper?

Yes. Office paper, envelopes (windows are fine), brochures, catalogues, newspapers and magazines can be collected in 1100L bins.

Where does the cardboard go?

Every load goes to cardboard recycling, where it is pulped and made into new paper and packaging instead of going to landfill.

Pricing & coverage

How much does cardboard collection cost?

85+ suburbs across south-east Melbourne: Greater Dandenong, Kingston, Monash, Casey, Frankston, Knox and the Mornington Peninsula.
